Other Side Of The Grass (AU)

((AU where Noah was found MUCH MUCH MUCH later on in life. Just a quick story while I'm busy with RL shit but hopefully somebody enjoys this XD))

"Ugh, how much farther is it?"

Gamun Bi glanced to his side and eyed the person the complaint had come from. "We still have a ways to go. Bi Gak does not enjoy unwelcome guests stumbling upon the place we use." And for the most part, having a difficult path to the place they used for refuge was a small price to pay; the alternative was becoming used to walking into a random room full of blood and body parts.

"Why did he even call us here?" The younger Chachaoong groaned, putting his arms behind his head to stretch. Although the other ones with them were silent, Gamun Bi could tell they had similar concerns.

Suddenly, an energy tickled the edge of Gamun Bi's awareness, and he swung his arm out to halt the party.

"Huh?! What-?!"

He shook his head, eyes focused on the path. "Shh." Gamun Bi summoned his weapon, and the young ones clustered behind him uneasily. "...Someone...But who? Hm...Show yourself. Are you friend or foe?" He demanded to the darkness, a symphony of rustling going off at once all around them.

Then something launched in front of them and collided with Gamun Bi, knocking him back and sending him tumbling into the brush, the group hesitating as they heard a splash a few minutes after. "G-Gamun Bi-Nim!" A girl called, heading after the older Chachaoong.

"Eh, forget him. He was a lousy guide." The male said.

She glared at him. "He was the only one who knew how to get to the place we're going! We NEED him!" She took off, the others sharing glances before following her lead. The male sighed and chased after them.

The group located the river quickly, and thankfully, the red Gamun Bi wore as well as his bright blond hair made it easy to spot him several yards down the bank. He was holding something, soaking wet, and was breathing heavily as they approached. "Is that-?!" The girls covered their mouths, the males looking uneasy, and Gamun Bi sighed before looking down at the figure he was holding.

The lair was less than what one would call 'homey'; an old building that spread underground, almost catacomb-like brick and stone hallways leading to various rooms. But it was a shelter from the elements and despite lone wolves making up most of the group who stayed there, it was better than nothing.

"...So...You took a late night dip...for a rabbit?"

Bi Gak was eyeing the brown bundle of fur in Gamun Bi's arms, a pink collar around its neck. The critter was strangely large, larger than normal rabbits, but aside from that, nothing struck the psychopath as being note-worthy. The glaive-wielder had no shame in his expression, though the water still dripping from his clothing was making it awkward for Bi Gak to take the situation seriously.

"...Sometimes I honestly think you might be an idiot." The gold-eyed Chachaoong finally deadpanned.

Gamun Bi shrugged as a door nearby opened and two little girls rushed out to cling to him. They eyed the bundle and emitted soft gasps, the cherry-eyed girl holding her arms up as if pleading. "Be very careful, Ga Be. It took an unexpected swim and it might be in shock." Their caretaker cautioned as he lowered the animal to her hands, feeling a weak heartbeat. "Actually, I was wondering where Mano was-"

"Are you seriously going to ask me to be a vet?"

They collectively looked over to see the doctor himself strolling from the door the girls had come through. Leon and Ignatio followed next, the Yongma user brightening when he saw Gamun Bi. "Hyung! Good to see you again!"

"I thought you liked rabbits?" The older Chachaoong muttered as Ga Be offered the critter to Mano.

The doctor took the animal by the scruff of its neck, lifting it to his face. "...It's terminal." Gamun Bi's jaw dropped as the red-and-green decorated male shrugged carelessly. "No point in doing anything for it. Oi, Leon, fresh meat would be healthy for you-" He'd been about to offer the critter to the poison-user when it was swiped from his hand. His eyes lowered to two very angry children, Ga Ram glaring as her sister cuddled the rabbit, which seemed to be waking up.

"You certainly can't be serious about keeping a pet, Gamun Bi." Bi Gak called from his seat. "I'm not fond of things that get in the way."

Gamun Bi turned to reply that he would be sole caretaker if he was allowed, when everyone in the room froze. Ga Be and Ga Ram were shying away as the rabbit's form glowed, a pink much like its collar, and the critter's body swelled in size. When the light died down, a young male Chachaoong was found on the floor where the animal had been, though there wasn't any mystery as to what had happened; two large fluffy ears stuck out at the top of the male's head, and long hair faded from the chestnut brown the rabbit's fur had been into bright vivid pink.

Though what stuck out most was the tattered and ripped straight-jacket the Chachaoong was wearing.

"Oho~"

Bi Gak's trademark grin had reappeared with this turn of events, the psychopath leaning in his seat as Gamun Bi hurried to the new Chachaoong's side. The glaive-wielder checked the young man over, startled when a groan signaled him waking up. Eyelids parted, and for a moment Gamun Bi's breath caught as he stared into bright pink pools of confusion.

That ended as the young Chachaoong squealed shrilly in terror and headbutted him. Hard.

The girls barely managed to catch Gamun Bi as he rubbed the spot where his forehead was bleeding, the strange rabbit-guy struggling with his bindings and panicking while rolling about on the floor. "Well...So his Ability is changing forms?" Mano observed as no one did anything to help the situation.

"Not quite." Bi Gak replied, grinning as he left his seat. "Gamun Bi...I've changed my mind. He's yours to keep. Why don't you help him out of that?"

The red-eyed male stared at Bi Gak incredulously, but sighed and made his way over. The rabbit-guy froze as soon as he saw the other approaching, and Gamun Bi's progression halted as a fearful whimper left the bound Chachaoong's throat. "Dongsaeng, calm. You aren't going to be harmed." The glaive-wielder soothed, moving closer slowly until his hand could grab the jacket. Another whimper, and to his dismay, the ears fell down, a sign that in a normal animal would mean they had accepted a dreadful end. Gamun Bi carefully snapped open the bindings, and the jacket fell, revealing that...well, one, there was an enormous scar on the younger male's chest but as well, the straight-jacket and the pants were the only articles of clothing he had.

Once the jacket fell, the ears went back up in surprise, the other male watching Gamun Bi's movements with surprised wide eyes. He removed his outer jacket and draped it around the young man's shoulders, momentarily annoyed as a drop of blood fell from his brow.

"Ah~"

Bi Gak grinned, watching as the rabbit-guy wiped the next drop away, Gamun Bi's cut visibly faded with a pink sheen like the light before. "So, he can Heal, I see...Well." The gold-eyed male smirked darkly as a surprised Gamun Bi was hugged. "Perhaps you should go and get more 'pets' then. With that kind of luck we might get even more surprises."

"And here is my room. You'll stay here as well, unless you'd rather stay with Ga Ram and Ga Be."

Gamun Bi was in the room he'd claimed for himself, the girls currently hitching a ride on the rabbit-guy's back as he danced about with them in play. 'Noah' had been squeaked out when asked but had thus been the only word Noah had said since waking up.

"It's possible he's been experimented on." Mano was talking to Bi Gak. "The clothes and lack of communication skills would make sense then. I've heard there are many of our kinds who've been experimented on to death by others or by humans. Though where did he escape from? I thought this place was the only one close by."

The psychopath was staring off into space as was a habit of his.

"The healing ability is useful though. I'll test its limits tomorrow, but I'm not sure about that shape-shifting ability-"

Bi Gak finally spoke, interrupting Mano. "That isn't his Ability."

"...It's not?"

The gold-eye grinned. "His beast."

"That guy has a Yongma?!" Mano's jaw dropped slightly.

Bi Gak chuckled, Ryu-Guheul shifting where he stood behind his master. "It was hiding both their presences in that little rabbit form. I had heard of some who had the ability to absorb the power of their beasts, but I've never seen one for myself. It seems like they are even fused together." The gold eyes sparkled cruelly. "I wonder what was done to that little guy? Hm? How did they do it?"

"..Are you going to use him?"

The answer was a laugh. "I already told that guy the little one is his. If I take it back he might get angry at me. But I'm definitely curious." Bi Gak was grinning in a toothy manner.

"...Are you feeling well?" Gamun Bi prompted as the girls scurried off for bed. Noah tilted his head and joined Gamun Bi on the bed, eyes shutting as the elder's hand ruffled the hair between his ears. "It would be easier if you could speak, but that might be the shock. I'll do my best to take care of you, Noah. If you need anything, just come to me alright?"

Noah nodded and slumped against Gamun Bi, a rumbling coming from his chest that made the elder laugh. "And here I thought only cats could purr." Noah glanced up at him, and smiled in reply.

"Besides...I don't need to directly use him."

Gamun Bi's eyes went wide as he lost his balance, Noah's lips pressing to his as they fell over on his bed. The glaive-wielder's face turned bright red.

"I just have to give him a good bargaining chip."
